"The brainchild of a high-end interior designer, Velobello’s range of city bikes is seriously impressive. The label’s keen eye for design and aesthetics is not lost.
Every detail has been carefully considered, from form and function to beauty and practicality. Each handmade Velobello bike oozes style and a certain charm that echoes the classic Dutch bicycle.
We opted for the 6-speed Chelsea Dutch style bike (being a London-based business, each bike is named after an iconic area of the city) with its step-through design that has you sat upright with its uber comfortable saddle and vintage style handlebars – it demands that you take in the sights of our wonderful city.
Ideally suited for city-dwellers crossing town, the six-speed gears (shifted by Shimano) and lightweight steel frame ensure a passive and rather decadent ride.
The built-in bag rack and mud guards add to the overall aesthetic along with the rear wheel and dress guard that also protects your clothing.
This bike is all about stunning aesthetics and has nail
ed the iconic look that many bikes try to but fail to achieve, all seamlessly without compromising on function. I opted for the pistachio colour (stunning) but this bike is also available in red, cream and blue.
If you’re feeling braver, opt for the single speed Soho bike in bronze - an urban street bike that already warrants design icon status."
Thank you !!

Climate change is harming our planet, but if we all make a small change, we can make a big impact.
(more:trees) enables you to plant trees, so you can help sequester carbon dioxide in the future. Sometimes it's the little things that count.
So with every Velobello bike sold a new tree will be planted, that's a double whammy and a great environmental impact with every purchase.

Cycling means exercise and this is a benefit to the entire body. Cycling activates your metabolism, it tones muscle tissues, burns excess fat and much much more.
Obvious right?
But what is quite often underestimated is the positive and feel-good effects of a good cycle ride ( especially outside in nature ) and the benefits it has on the mind and an individual's mood. Being fit and in good physical shape is no good if you're stressed out, tired, feel burdened and have a cluttered mind.
1) Cycling is less stressful than driving a car
According to some research the heart rate of a car driver that is stuck in London traffic can rise to nearly 150 beats per minute during heavy traffic or during rush hour times. That’s more than double the heart rate of an average healthy adult cyclist. Car drivers stuck in busy traffic stress levels are even higher than those of fighter pilots reportedly.
So de-stress and ride a bike!
2) Cycling helps you get a good nights sleep
A study by Stanford University Department of Medicine found that cycling for about half an hour a day helps us sleep much better. Cycling can help people suffering from insomnia and can help them fall asleep quicker. Another study suggests it also helps them sleep for longer.
A college professor explains that when we are exposed to sunlight whilst cycling this helps regulate the body's biological rhythms and reduces cortisol levels in the body thereby improving sleep.
So if you want a good nights sleep go for a cycle!
3) Cycling is good for your brain
An American University conducted tests on a group of cyclists who increased their cycling exercise by just 5%. The test results showed a 15% improvement in their overall performance on a mental aptitude tests. Meaning that cycling actually stimulates brain cells in the hippocampus which is responsible for your memory.
So if you want to ace that exam go for a cycle!
4) Cycling puts you in a good mood
Calorie consumption by the body whilst cycling produces endorphins in the brain, which helps to improve your mood. Regular cycling helps to improve our physical well-being which in turn improves our self-esteem; making us feel more attractive and overall happier.
Feel better about yourself and go for a cycle!
5) Cycling can make you healthy
A study at a University in the US found out that people who cycling for just 30 minutes a day will reduce their risk and likelihood of illness when compared to less active individuals.
Cut down on those sick days and ride a bike!
6) Cycling can make you more productive
Another study revealed that cyclists are more focused and productive at both home and work.
Be more focused and ride a bike!
7) Cycling can make you more alert
It is known that cycling as well as providing physical benefits makes people more alert as they have to adapt very quickly to road conditions, weather and hazardous situations whilst cycling.
Be more alert and ride a bike!
Cycling can help us achieve our optimum level of both physical and mental well-being.
Cycling helps us to improve our lives both physically and mentally
Improve your wellbeing and go for a cycle today.

Why is now the perfect time for Londoners to own a bike in London?
As well as the noticeable huge reduction in traffic on our streets, which is making cycling safer and more accessible to people, TFL is creating a staggering 280 miles of cycleways across London. Many of these schemes have been fast tracked due to the pandemic. What used to be known as Cycle Superhighways and Cycle Quietways are now being absorbed into a much larger cycle network dubbed "Cycleways".
TFL aims to link up all parts of London with an additional 280 miles of cycle paths, segregated lanes and cycle routes to link up communities and destinations across the whole of London.
See the TFL's Cycleways Cycle Routes and Maps
This all ties in with the Healthy Streets Approach announced by the Mayor of London and TFL to encourage Londoners to walk, cycle and use public transport instead of vehicles within the capital
The aim is to put Londoners wellbeing at the heart of all planning within the City. It is hoped that by 2041 80% of all jounreys within London are made by walking, cycling or using public transport.
Some research conducted by the campaign revealed that if every Londoner were to walk or cycle for just 20 minutes a day that would save the NHS nearly £2 billion pounds over the next 25 years. And aside from the health and welbeing benefits this would reduce also noise and air pollution in the capital substantially.
There is also Mini-Holland programme which is also part of the London's Mayors Healthy Streets Approach which is looking at investing about £100 million into transforming cycling around some of the outer London Boroughs of Enfield, Kingston and Waltham Forest into what they call "dutch style cycling infrastructure". This will see a large increasse in segregated cycle lanes on busy roads to encourage more cycling which they hope will also inturn reduce the amout of traffic on local residential streets.
As part of the "Making London Safer for Cycling" the mayor and TFL have released some information and proposals for making London's roads safer and helping cyclists gain confidence when cycling in the Capital.

It is also worth noting that the carbon footprint in the production of a car is far far greater than that when producing a bike.
Figures suggest that the CO2 released during productioon and per km for a bicycle is just 16g and taking into account food being produced which is a cyclist fuel to propel the bike and 313g for a car including fuel.
Cycling is one of the many ways that we can help reduce our carbon emissions. If the cycling boom (20% increase) continues it is estimated that by 2050 a 115 reduction in carbon emissions could be acheived.
The additional knock on effects of cycling should be quantified. Such as the reduction of infrastructure for vehicles like roads and car parks and indeed the reduction in fuelk usage would have also add to a reduction.
When talking about cycling and it's effects on the world we should also take into account the redution of other pollutants and the reduction in noise pollution.
